Memorial Day Weekend Trip to Springfield

Springfield was a great time this year! We celebrated Carlene and Emily's birthdays, Cory played golf (and didn't play well...), I had a sushi/Sex and the City girl's night, Henry ran in the sprinkler and went swimming, Grandma and Grandpa took Henry to the zoo, we had a Memorial Day picnic at Washington Park, and we went to see Grandpa Val's new house! It was miserably humid the entire time, but worth it to see the people we love!

Henry got his first fever while we were in Springfield, and it turns out he had a virus called Roseola. The virus is most common in kids from 6 months to 2 years. It causes a fever for several days, and then a rash all over the body. So, now the temp is gone, but there is a nasty rash all over poor Henry! We went to the doctor this morning. There really is nothing they can do, so it has to just run its course... No fun!

Great trip, but glad to be home.
